Restorative (Fillings)

A dental filling serves the purpose of repairing tooth damage or reshaping it for various reasons. Instances where a filling might be employed include:

  1. Repairing damage caused by decay (caries)

  2. Addressing fractures and breaks in teeth resulting from wear or trauma

  3. Replacing old and deteriorated fillings

  4. Alleviating sensitivity issues

  5. Enhancing the aesthetic appearance of teeth

Here at Advanced Dental we do Composite fillings.

These fillings are tooth-colored, offering a natural appearance. Available in multiple shades, they can be seamlessly matched to your tooth color. Composites are versatile and can be employed to conceal discolored teeth or modify the shape of teeth.

Composites consist of a blend of glass and plastic particles, forming a pliable material that allows for the recreation of the tooth's shape. The composite adheres to the tooth using a resin-based bonding material, and it is applied in layers. Each layer is hardened with a curing light to establish a robust, tooth-colored structure. The final step involves shaping and polishing the filling.

One notable advantage of composites is their ability to conserve tooth tissue, as they bond to any cavity shape without requiring special shape preparation, unlike amalgam fillings.\
